Yoga can be for everyone, and I will always adapt the class or your session to suit your needs. Some choose to complete the class entirely from their chair, whilst others stand when they can and use the chair as support when stretching and balancing.

Yoga is an ancient practice originating from India about 2000 years ago. It literally means to yoke or to join, and it is the practise of connecting the mind and the body via the breath.
Yoga is often perceived as just an exercise system with complex moves and positions, but I believe yoga is truly accessible to everyone. A lot of my classes are entirely chair based, and I have curated programmes and courses for clients of any age and ability. I aim to help my students work out what best suits them and to become confident in making choices that will benefit them both physically and mentally, not just about movement and exercise but also in their day-to-day life and career.
Yoga has been shown to help many physical and mental health conditions and promote a sense of wellbeing:
Improve strength, balance and flexibility
Support the relief of back pain
Ease arthritis symptoms
Help with stress management
Improve sleep
Help anxiety and depression
Promote self-awareness and better self-care
Can provide a supportive community

I currently offer a class that is subsidised and supported by the Parkinson's Society, and is held every Monday at 10am at:
Accessible parking available
This class is for people with Parkinson's, and you are also welcome to bring a friend or partner along with you. The class is 1 hour in length, and classes cost £5 pay-as-you-go, or you can pay for the full course up-front for that term.
I run an additional class each half term completely free of charge, for those able to stand and sit on the floor without assistance. At the end of each half term, we welcome all students to join for tea and cake together.

Wear something that you'll be comfortable in for the full hour, and that you can easily move around and stretch in.
Some people bring their own yoga mat if they have one, however this is not mandatory. Classes can also be done completely seated if you prefer.

As long as there is sufficient space, I am happy to do the session in your own home. I will assess your personal needs and challenges you may be experiencing, and create a personalised yoga programme that suits your goals and mobility.
Sessions can be booked individually, or as a longer term course.
